GKIDS / ASIFA-Hollywood screening at the NoHo 7 with the cast and crew: Alfred Molina (Voice of The Sergeant), Quvenzhane Wallis (Voice of Almitra), Writer/Director Roger Allers, Producer Salma Hayek-Pinault (& Voice of Kamila), Jamie K. Bolio (Moderator) and Producer Clark Peterson.
LACMA screening, red carpet & Q+A…
Roger Allers (Director of The Lion King, The Little Match Girl, Open Season) wrote the framing story and directed the overall film, produced by Salma Hayek-Pinault and Clark Peterson. The original book of poetry, written by the celebrated Lebanese-American author Kahlil Gibran, has sold over 100 million copies in forty languages since its publication in 1923.
9 award-winning filmmakers were asked to direct 8 of the poems including:

The soundtrack (now available on iTunes) is by Gabriel Yared featuring YoYo Ma and songs by Damien Rice, Lisa Hannigan and Glen Hansard.
